One central question about this management system is how to integrate it into the existing IT infrastructure of your company. This requires both automation interfaces as well as data exchange possibilities.

Software Integration

For example, an automated data interaction between a Power System Analysis tool and StationWare is required. An interface, using standardised XML web service infrastructure, is thus included.

Link to PowerFactory

An example of this automation interface is the link to the PowerFactory power system analysis software system. The settings values stored inside DIgSILENT StationWare may be accessed for calculation purposes. If the analysis determines that these settings should change, the changes may be directly transferred back into the StationWare database system.

In this manner, settings applied in the past may be used for fault level calculations in order to analyze reasons for maloperation. Optimised settings may then also be determined from setting co-ordination studies.

Data Exchange with other software components

For the application of settings to relays, settings may be converted to various manufacturer dependent formats, so that these settings may then be validated and applied to the protective devices in the field, in an automatic data transfer, without requiring any manual data input.
Currently the following converters are available:

Import converters1:

  • ABB: CAP540, WinECP, PCM600, MCUSetup
  • Areva: Micom S1: S&R103 IEC, S&R Modbus, S&R Courier
  • Basler: Bestcoms 851G/951
  • Eberle: WinREG, WinTM, Toolbox
  • GE: various Enervista software versions – MII, MM2, MM300/MM200, SR3
  • Nari Electric: PCS-Explorer
  • Nulec: WSOS
  • Reinhausen: TAPCON 240/260

  • ZIV: ZivercomPlus

1 Import/Export converters may refer on specific versions of manufacturer settings file formats. Please contact stationware@digsilent.de for more details.

A prioritized target in the development of StationWare is the continued extension of this list of converters. New converters, for other manufacturer specific file formats, can also be developed according to your operational requirements.

Data exchange facility via IEC 61850 standards is under preparation.

XML data exchange

In order to offer you the best integration of data into your IT infrastructure, data exchange via XML formats to 3rd party software systems is possible. The content may be adapted according to your needs.

Document management system

A built-in document management system supports easy access to relay manuals, test reports or additional documentation such as substation diagrams. With this, native settings files can easily be managed.

Links

Modern relays may protect several circuits or communicate with other relays in the same substation or at a remote substation. For easy navigation, DIgSILENT StationWare allows links to be defined to or between any device stored within the system. These links are visualized in a tabulated link list.

A flexible reporting platform

DIgSILENT StationWare includes a reporting section that is extendable according to your requirements. Additional text fields and resources, such as your company logo, may be defined, so as to provide corporate identity, for example.

The output format can be HTML (hypertext markup language files), PDF (portable document format), XML (extensible markup language) or simple text files.
